An amount in the lower eight-digit range was raised from current shareholders and new investors to fund Pflegeplatzmanager´s ambitious growth.
Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH convinced a group company of Deutsche Balaton AG — and other investors including Dr. Stefan Hoops (Head of Unternehmensbank — Deutsche Bank) as new shareholders. Additionally, Treuenburg Venture Partners , a company of the Erfurt Treuenburg Group, and other existing investors have increased their investments, in some cases significantly.
“We are pleased that we were able to attract great partners to expand the shareholder base with the closing of the financing round. With the acquired financial resources, we can meet the expectations of the market, especially with regard to digitalization and the requirements of the Hospital Future Act in Germany. This brings us another step closer to our goal of providing sustainable, positive support for the German healthcare system — which also gives our customers great security,” stated Managing Directors Chris Schiller and Alexander Bauch in unison.
With its B2B platform, Pflegeplatzmanager is currently used by over 500 acute and rehabilitation clinics throughout Germany. These include many university hospitals and maximum care providers. In addition, the Thüringen company is developing the B2C platform www.besserfinden.de to make it easier for private individuals to find care support for their relatives in the home setting. The company operates out of three locations in Germany, in the cities of Greiz, Jena and Lauf a.d. Pegnitz. More than 50 people are employed by Pflegeplatzmanager at the aforementioned locations.
By using Pflegeplatzmanager´s platform, hospitals and private individuals are networked with nursing homes, outpatient care services, intensive care facilities, palliative care, short-term care, preventive care, care authorities, professional caregivers, care insurance companies, as well as health insurance companies, aid suppliers, ambulance services and care advice sources, among others. In this way, regional digital health networks are being created with the aim of providing the best possible and most appropriate care for patients.
Previously, clinic staff had to make 40–50 calls (almost four hours of working time) in most cases to find a suitable next setting for patient care. Pflegeplatzmanager´s solution reduces this effort considerably, avoids double and incorrect entries through innovative interface technologies and ensures a compliance-correct transfer process.
Torsten Pfeifer, Treuenburg Venture Partners: “I am pleased to have been able to accompany this successful business from the very beginning. Increasing our stake in Pflegeplatzmanager is a clear and consistent step, not only because rapid further growth can be delivered by the company in the future, but also because Pflegeplatzmanager provides a real and sorely needed digital solution in hospital discharge management.”
Karin Rabe, bm|t: “We have accompanied Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH since its founding in 2018 as an investor from the very beginning and are thrilled with how, within three years, a powerful, high-performing company with a digital platform has quickly been created from the original business idea. The development of the company has been successful not least thanks to the commitment of the two founders- A. Bauch and C. Schiller and the now more than 50 employees. The development of the company has far exceeded even our high expectations — and the growth continues unabated. We are looking forward to working with the new, very strong group of shareholders, who will continue to push the company to fulfil its great potential,” said Karin Rabe, Senior Investment Manager at bm‑t.
